With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dionisio Ondino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Cristian Sancho sped through Elite Azulgrana's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dionisio Ondino. In the 23rd match minute, Elite Azulgrana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Loramendi to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Ondino having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play forced Elite Azulgrana's goalkeeper Dionisio Ondino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pastor Sagrario to strike the kick off in the second half. Ecuador played a much better game than Elite Azulgrana and deserved their victory. The Elite Azulgrana players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
