In the 34th minute of the match Abraham Alguacil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivica Hunds skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Hilmar Bäcker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 40th minute of play forced Türkgücü Hanau's goalkeeper Ivica Hunds to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th match minute, Türkgücü Hanau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Radtke to maneuver through the defense. After 84 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. In the 85th minute, Otfried Rendelmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 88th minute, Panama's Tomas Berganza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The supporters of Panama booed when Türkgücü Hanau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otfried Rendelmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Türkgücü Hanau support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
