The corner ended in Xavier Figueroa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but 山东泰山队's 龚浩云 did a great save. In the 4th minute, Xavier Figueroa made a precise shot to the right of 龚浩云. 山东泰山队's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, 山东泰山队's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but 龚浩云 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th match minute, 山东泰山队 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zheng Feng Ling to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind 山东泰山队's goalkeeper 龚浩云, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Mariano Lacasa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 龚浩云 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of 山东泰山队's 龚浩云. 龚浩云 was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Zheng Feng Ling's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. In the last second Thiago Pliego throw himself and got hold of the ball when 杜亦诚 in the 34thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 36th minute of the match 山东泰山队 got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 黄辰笑 ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xavier Figueroa's late challenge caught a 山东泰山队's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xavier Figueroa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th minute, one of Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chile. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Arnold in the 42nd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Lacasa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, one of 山东泰山队:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for 山东泰山队. 53 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 龚浩云. 山东泰山队's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 山东泰山队's 龚浩云 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 57th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Arnold, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by 山东泰山队's 杜亦诚. But to his dismay, 杜亦诚 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. In the 69th match minute, 山东泰山队 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wincent Kajder to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Mariano Lacasa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of 龚浩云. The goal made the score 3-5. Gerardo Pozo charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerardo Pozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zheng Feng Ling in the 81st minute of play. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by 山东泰山队's Zheng Feng Ling. But to his dismay, Zheng Feng Ling quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zheng Feng Ling in the 86th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 黄辰笑 kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Casaus in the 91st minute of play forced 山东泰山队's goalkeeper 龚浩云 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mariano Lacasa struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. 龚浩云 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. If Alexander Arnold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Chile supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
