Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. If Melker Jokiranta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Georg Godholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 4th minute of play. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Georg Godholm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 7th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Cesario in the 8th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, FC Shifen III's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Georg Godholm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Cesario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Ecuador's Agustín Saelices getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 18th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Godholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Shifen III's Georg Godholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. Georg Godholm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of the match. Georg Godholm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 33rd minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto Cesario in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georg Godholm having to interfere. Jacinto Cesario did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Julio Vera 46 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jacinto Cesario made the kick off in the second half. Kristoffer Jelm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Georg Godholm. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Georg Godholm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Fossum in the 60th minute of the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Fossum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Cesario in the 62nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Jacinto Cesario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Georg Godholm in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Cesario's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Cesario in the 72nd minute of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute of play forced FC Shifen III's goalkeeper Georg Godholm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Cesario in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georg Godholm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
