An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 14th minute of play forced Nacional Potosí's goalkeeper Jeremy Blomme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 minutes, Mario Abad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nacional Potosí and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute of the match Odol Abancens shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jeremy Blomme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 40th match minute, Nacional Potosí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lionel Beets to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Abello in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wyatt Jeffers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odol Abancens in the 52nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla came free and shot a quick shot against goal 66 minutes in the game, fortunately Jeremy Blomme had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 67th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Blomme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Nacional Potosí's Jeremy Blomme. Jeremy Blomme was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeremy Blomme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 75th minute of play. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nacional Potosí reached it. Felix Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odol Abancens in the 87th minute of the match. The Mexico players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
