Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eufrasio Aranzubia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the game, Xerardo Amer lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Xerardo Amer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fuerzas Armadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Xerardo Amer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xerardo Amer in the 16th minute. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute Fuerzas Armadas were awarded a corner. Eufrasio Aranzubia went to the cornerflag to take it. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eufrasio Aranzubia in the 26th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaizkine Armada during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th minute, Gaizkine Armada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Xerardo Amer came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaizkine Armada hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Patricio Costa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oro Montes. That made the score 5-1 in the 77 minute of play. After 82 minutes, Elvio Rivas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fuerzas Armadas and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fuerzas Armadas! Oro Montes had in the 83rdth minute some difficulties stopping Tomas Illescas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Oro Montes managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
