Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 12 played minutes DARAS got a freekick which was hit by Vinnie Jones. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 15 minutes into the game, Zahari Kerekov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DARAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 16th minute of play forced DARAS's goalkeeper Vute Baliev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gonzo Ivanov 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 21st minute, Gonzo Ivanov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Lautaro Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 26 minutes, Iliya Kasabov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DARAS and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Puig in the 27th minute of play forced DARAS's goalkeeper Vute Baliev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Toni Nenchev capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Toni Nenchev really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 36 minutes into the match, Gonzo Ivanov notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 39 minutes into the game, DARAS's Toni Nenchev nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Toni Nenchev came free with the goalkeeper in the 45th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benito Sanz could save by the left post.

DARAS's Toni Nenchev got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vute Baliev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. DARAS's Paolo Rossi was substituted for Toni Nenchev. Efrain Moruga got a throw-in 66 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Juan Rubio. After 72 played minutes DARAS got a freekick which was hit by Nano Mitrashkov. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 74th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Costa Rica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of DARAS:s goal. Benito Sanz had in the 82ndth minute some difficulties stopping Gonzo Ivanov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Rossi in the 84th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Gonzo Ivanov made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paolo Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After 89 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. A collision led to DARAS getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Dragan Mangezov hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. DARAS fully deserved thier win.
