Nechifor Potopea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Ivan Pacuraru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tutor Militari's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niculae Curăreanu came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heleno Tutorskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Tutor Militari's David Cornea got a free kick in the 16th minute. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leontin Bouleanu hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Cristinel Cînu made in the 27th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Christian Sancho. Sebastian Villa charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastian Villa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sebastian Villa hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Ivan Pacuraru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristinel Cînu made in the 45th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ivan Pacuraru however managed to control. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Pacuraru in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niculae Curăreanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 55th minute of play forced Tutor Militari's goalkeeper Niculae Curăreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. 58 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Heleno Tutorskiy came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Cristinel Cînu in the 62nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Luca Espinar. Sebastian Villa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niculae Curăreanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Pacuraru in the 66th minute of the match. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tutor Militari's goalkeeper Niculae Curăreanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nechifor Potopea charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nechifor Potopea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Arseni, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Tutor Militari's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Niculae Curăreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Heleno Tutorskiy's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Tutor Militari could leave the field as winners, despite Honduras having more of the ball for most of the match.
