But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jeremias Vedillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 35th minute, Lucas Macias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jeremias Vedillo quite easily take care of the ball. When Lorenzo Cazalla fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Lorenzo Cazalla a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of C.A.M.P booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. In the 71st minute Şehzade Afgan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Facundo Cadaval advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-3 in the 86th minute. The throw-in from Leonardo Leoz in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C.A.M.P's Dani Caceres.
