An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillermo Fontirroig in the 9th minute of play forced Savage Hippo's goalkeeper Bengt-Arne Askstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Savage Hippo's Aleksander Walec quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felix Garrido, made in the 11th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edwin Grabert got free with Thiago Pliego in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Grabert in the 14th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edwin Grabert. The supporters of Chile booed when Savage Hippo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksander Walec didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Bengt-Arne Askstedt. Savage Hippo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Edwin Grabert tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Felix Garrido threw the ball into play from the sideline. Savage Hippo's Aleksander Walec quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edwin Grabert to strike the kick off in the second half. Aleksander Walec hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Savage Hippo's zone, Orlando Casaus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt-Arne Askstedt came out of the goal and Orlando Casaus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 55 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Grabert came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bengt-Arne Askstedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 62nd minute of the match. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edwin Grabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Edwin Grabert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Edwin Grabert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edwin Grabert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. The Chile fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Chile's Mariano Lacasa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a little luck, Savage Hippo's Bengt-Arne Askstedt got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line.
