ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's Lakis Kissas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lakis Kissas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Uruguay booed when ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zacharias Kapellos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marinos Nebegleras in the 17th minute of play. With 18 minutes on the clock, Eleftherios Klitorakis commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! The ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's Gert Varusk looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 34 minutes into the match, ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Gisbert came free, but Lakis Kissas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Maximiliano Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaime Cazalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lakis Kissas having to make a save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. Francisco Secos short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Lakis Kissas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Francisco Seco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lakis Kissas having to make a save. When Panos Michailidis fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's protests and gave Panos Michailidis a yellow card for diving instead. After 65 played minutes ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ got a freekick which was hit by Panos Michailidis. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Alkaios Kalfopoulos hit a great ball. Zacharias Kapellos hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Francisco Seco scored 1-3 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lakis Kissas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Zacharias Kapellos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 88th play minutes Francisco Seco shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Lakis Kissas and just under the crossbar into goal. Francisco Seco scored 2-5 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lakis Kissas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 96th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lakis Kissas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Uruguay could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ throughout the match.
