Savon Palloseura's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Aatu Sivonen hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 15 minutes, Felix Montes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Savon Palloseura players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. In the 17thth minute of the game Ciriaco Ferrando who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Valdemar Kallio sent off a good shot on target. If Markus Pakaslahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lasse Saarelainen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lasse Saarelainen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Lasse Saarelainen. Savon Palloseura's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ciriaco Ferrando's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Lasse Saarelainen made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 79th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Savon Palloseura's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Savon Palloseura's Lasse Saarelainen did a great save. Luis Andino's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Lasse Saarelainen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Savon Palloseura defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lasse Saarelainen. The Savon Palloseura fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lasse Saarelainen should have stopped the shot.
