Michel Santos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Michel Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Michel Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tobias Øverland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of the match. After 17 minutes APOELHELLAS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jonathan Venegas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tobias Øverland quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 20th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute, Michel Santos made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 35 minutes into the game, Michel Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute, APOELHELLAS's Michel Santos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. In the 41st minute, APOELHELLAS's Michel Santos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. When Michel Santos came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the APOELHELLAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michel Santos couldn't finish the play. Michel Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

In the 62nd minute of the match Nikola Ribić sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 67 minutes of play, APOELHELLAS's Michel Santos made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! 72 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Aglauros Sakellariou came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Santos in the 73rd minute of the match. Michel Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the game, Michel Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Michel Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michel Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. APOELHELLAS made a substitution. Phaiakes Mitsinikos replaced Michel Santos. There was no doubt that APOELHELLAS were the better team. APOELHELLAS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
