In the 11th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Quintero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to The Blues FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alberto Alfaro hit a great ball. Rolando Quintero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 25th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Quintero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Quintero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 35th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Blues FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! Rolando Quintero had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Axel Tasis's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 46th minute, The Blues FC's Javier Herrera dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After a rather tough play, The Blues FC's Alberto Alfaro got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Alfaro in the 54th minute of the match. When Costa Rica's Axel Tasis in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye The Blues FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 56 minutes, Axel Tasis made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alberto Alfaro struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Blues FC. When Efrain Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Efrain Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. There was no doubt that The Blues FC were the better team. The Blues FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
