Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen started the match with the kick off. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Melis in the 3rd minute. FC Inter Sibiu were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dragoş Bitang took the corner. In the 11thth minute of the game Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sebastián Sosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustín Saelices in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastián Sosa saved FC Inter Sibiu from getting behind. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Cordescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The corner ended in Dragoş Bitang almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, FC Inter Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gică Costandache to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Inter Sibiu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After 44 played minutes FC Inter Sibiu got a freekick which was hit by Codrin Chihaia. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen tried to sneak it across the goal line.

In the 63rd minute, Frank Melis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Inter Sibiu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Melis in the 67th minute of play. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Sebastián Sosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 72nd minute, Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute, Frank Melis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Sebastián Sosa in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th minute Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Inter Sibiu fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ecuador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
