Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xurdin Pena got free with Julio Vera in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xurdin Pena. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play forced Melandru de Cenero's goalkeeper Andrea Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 29th minute of play. Xurdin Pena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 48th minute of play. Cristian Sancho scored 1-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andrea Perez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xurdin Pena to make the kick off. In the 58th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrea Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Melandru de Cenero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim Incera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrea Perez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everett Gerber in the 77th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everett Gerber in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Xurdin Pena came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Melandru de Cenero fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
