Walter Zenga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. In the 8th match minute, Scorpions -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Vrânceanu to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Tinu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walter Zenga was left in no man's land by his defense there! 20 minutes into the match, Scorpions -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Walter Zenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Zenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walter Zenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 33rd match minute, Scorpions -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costel Ţintă to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walter Zenga. Scorpions -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Vrânceanu in the 39th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Vrânceanu in the 44th minute.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Tinu in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 51st minute, Dan Tinu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Walter Zenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Zenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Scorpions -MM- made a substitution. Octav Vătăşel replaced Dan Tinu. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Zenga having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costel Ţintă in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After 65 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Uzuneanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Walter Zenga. That made the score 1-3 after 67 minutes of play. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Traian Uzuneanu was slow to take the kick. During this time Scorpions -MM-'s players had a chance to rest. Scorpions -MM-'s Traian Uzuneanu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Walter Zenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Costel Ţintă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Costel Ţintă put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octav Vătăşel's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Octav Vătăşel helped the player get up and apologised. Octav Vătăşel hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traian Uzuneanu in the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octav Vătăşel in the 94th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Traian Uzuneanu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Costel Ţintă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
