An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 13th minute of play forced Estrela Solitária's goalkeeper Benjamim Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Estrela Solitária getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Chicão Amorim hit a great ball. Benjamim Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 17th minute of play. The referee gave Estrela Solitária a penalty, 19 minutes into the game. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benjamim Dante quite easily take care of the ball. In the 61st minute Gerd Müller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Estrela Solitária's goalkeeper Benjamim Dante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Benjamim Dante in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute, Chicão Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Estrela Solitária.
