In the 14th minute of the match, Hamdi Abdul Qadir got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ricardo Zorita was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes got a free kick in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Hamdi Abdul Qadir managed to get in a good position for a shot. But to his dismay, Hamdi Abdul Qadir quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Ronny Niewens kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Yanick De Winter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Brugge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Norbert Gevaert made in the 83rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Goffrey Bastin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamdi Abdul Qadir in the 85th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th match minute, Club Brugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norbert Gevaert to maneuver through the defense. Hamdi Abdul Qadir took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Yanick De Winter came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yanick De Winter in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Brugge fully deserved thier win.
