The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Necip Sarıoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Necip Sarıoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Cotilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Panama booed when Devebağırtan Gücü F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rıdvan Zeyrek, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute, Necip Sarıoğlu made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s Attilio Gentile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ray Pincini in the 25th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Panama's Abraham Alguacil tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Necip Sarıoğlu sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Veli Tacal during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s Veli Tacal got a free kick in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Attilio Gentile saved Devebağırtan Gücü F. C. from getting behind. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Pincini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute Devebağırtan Gücü F. C. were awarded a corner. Rıdvan Zeyrek went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 45th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Attilio Gentile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Miralles to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. After taking down the ball on Panama's corner Tomas Berganza fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Attilio Gentile quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 58th minute of play forced Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s goalkeeper Attilio Gentile to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 61 played minutes Devebağırtan Gücü F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Tunç Tuyuğ. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s Necip Sarıoğlu. But to his dismay, Necip Sarıoğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Attilio Gentile having to interfere. Attilio Gentile made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 86th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rıdvan Zeyrek in the 91st minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Attilio Gentile made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
