When Milagros Fraga came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milagros Fraga couldn't finish the play. Grigore Chivu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dé 魏延 was the one to do the kick off. Horaţiu Cînu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Baniu in the 96th minute of play. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Horaţiu Cînu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Peru were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
