Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Macovei in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, FC AdibA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gelu Troncotă to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, FC AdibA's Constantin Dică got a free kick in the 39th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Avram Panait breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Constantin Dică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Avram Panait came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ecuador fully deserved thier win.
