Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Padula in the 23rd minute of play. Carmine Saturno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Biagio Chioda in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 29th minute. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Rombiolo BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniele Azzolina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emilio Grassi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Puig in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute of the match Costa Rica got a corner. Rombiolo BR's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Tasis ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Biagio Chioda in the 42nd minute of play. Lautaro Puig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emilio Grassi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carmine Saturno to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Axel Tasis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emilio Grassi was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aldo Padula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilio Grassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Aldo Padula came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emilio Grassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Costa Rica were awarded a corner. Axel Tasis went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Costa Rica's corner Axel Tasis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Emilio Grassi quite easily take care of the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Rombiolo BR's attentive Concetto Dominici managed to snatch the ball when Eliseo Noboa made a throw-in in the 81st minute of the game. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Rombiolo BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Rivera didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Biagio Chioda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-3 in the 86 minute of play. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Rombiolo BR left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
