The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 10th minute of play forced CD Municipal's goalkeeper George Forsyth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Forsyth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Enrique Cassaretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrique Cassaretto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. George Forsyth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 23rd minute of play. George Forsyth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Enrique Cassaretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Enrique Cassaretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. George Forsyth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cassius Byrne went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Călin Morovan kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but George Forsyth made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

After having played for 51 minutes, Monty Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Monty Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58thth minute of the game Monty Rogers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CD Municipal's George Forsyth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The CD Municipal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Forsyth should have stopped the shot. George Forsyth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After having played for 68 minutes, Tulio Andinyach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. George Forsyth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Campbell, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. George Forsyth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 81st minute of the match. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Enrique Cassaretto sent off a good shot on target. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aureliano Buendia was slow to take the kick. During this time CD Municipal's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Tulio Andinyach heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. CD Municipal's George Forsyth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khalid Parry in the 93rd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Sam Campbell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of George Forsyth. CD Municipal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Campbell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. There was no doubt that USA were the better team. USA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
