In the 11th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Boedo Crows's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jürgen Reil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jürgen Reil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 17th minute of play. Dan Dalman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Boedo Crows was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Mårtensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jürgen Reil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Camilo Gisbert made in the 26th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Luis Andino immediately put the ball in play. 29 minutes into the match, Boedo Crows's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Jürgen Reil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dan Dalman might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dan Dalman ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Dalman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Dan Dalman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Boedo Crows's Roman Ieltxu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Roman Ieltxu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Boedo Crows protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Roman Ieltxu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Boedo Crows's Lucio Rojelio was substituted for Froilan Calixto. 41 minutes into the game, one of Boedo Crows:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jürgen Reil. 0-2. The Boedo Crows players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dan Dalman to strike the kick off in the second half. Boedo Crows's Jürgen Reil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Boedo Crows from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Jürgen Reil in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the match, Boedo Crows's Dan Dalman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Jürgen Reil managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 69 minutes Boedo Crows's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jürgen Reil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Luis Andino put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jürgen Reil. In the 72nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Dalman in the 73rd minute of the match. Boedo Crows's Jürgen Reil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Boedo Crows from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Dan Dalman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geronimo Oton in the 81st minute of the match. Jürgen Reil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Mahmut Ergün was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boedo Crows's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 83rd minute, Mahmut Ergün hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Boedo Crows getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Geronimo Oton hit a great ball. If Geronimo Oton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Boedo Crows fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
