The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Nacional Potosí's Odol Abancens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Abello came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Abello, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Wyatt Jeffers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Tomas Abello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wyatt Jeffers to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Tomas Abello took a quick shot and it went in 0-11 without a chance for Ricardo Zorita to make any attempt to save it. When Lionel Beets came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Nacional Potosí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel Beets couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Abello kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ricardo Zorita. That made the score 0-12 in the 80 minute of play. Nacional Potosí made a substitution. Rogelio Abel replaced Rojelio Abalos. El Salvador's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Odol Abancens 85 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-13. When Tomas Abello came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Nacional Potosí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Abello couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute Tomas Abello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Tomas Abello made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-14. Wyatt Jeffers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. When the match was over Nacional Potosí could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than El Salvador throughout the match.
