Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Pascual Pitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Javi Pinola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pascual Pitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Facundo Cadaval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Maní FC defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pascual Pitin. The Maní FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pascual Pitin should have stopped the shot. Maní FC's Pascual Pitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 34th minute of play. After 36 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pascual Pitin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pascual Pitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 39th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Gaona in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pascual Pitin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th minute, Luca Rouco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute Maní FC were awarded a corner. Dieguinho Cruz went to the cornerflag to take it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Hauche, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pascual Pitin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. In the 88th match minute, Maní FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Indartsu to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the match, Maní FC's goalkeeper Pascual Pitin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Gaona. Mexico's Luca Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Hauche came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Hauche's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
