In the 13th match minute, Howling Dawn U18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Enzo Shantala. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Felix Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Enzo Shantala however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Enzo Shantala could save by the left post. After having played for 27 minutes, Lun Luna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Howling Dawn U18's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lun Luna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Enzo Shantala made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 33rd minute of play forced Howling Dawn U18's goalkeeper Enzo Shantala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Howling Dawn U18's Mercurio Mercurio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 54 minutes into the game, Lun Luna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute of play forced Howling Dawn U18's goalkeeper Enzo Shantala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Howling Dawn U18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Sanchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 67th minute. Enzo Shantala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute of play. In the 76th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Shantala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Howling Dawn U18's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Shantala came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Howling Dawn U18's Baldomiro Jerrald was substituted for Lun Luna. In the 87th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
