With an all-out effort, Bandung Tigers's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zulkarnaen Mandaga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fachri Puang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Xiao Jie De in the 22 minute of the game. In the 26th match minute, Bandung Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radomir Gajewski to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Leopoldo Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mekki Item showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute of the match. A collision led to Bandung Tigers getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Cristian Saldanha hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 35th minute of play forced Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fachri Puang got free with Rolando Noboa in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Peru's Eliseo Mina got a free kick in the 39th minute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zulkarnaen Mandaga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mekki Item. Bandung Tigers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Luz Tejedor made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Bandung Tigers's Mekki Item managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 71 minutes, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milagros Fraga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mekki Item stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bandung Tigers's zone, Eliseo Mina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mekki Item came out of the goal and Eliseo Mina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zulkarnaen Mandaga struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bandung Tigers. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mekki Item showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gallo in the 92nd minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
