In the 5th minute Traian Iorda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taavetti Mattila didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Alberto Tafalla put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Taavetti Mattila. In the 26th minute, Jerry Knowles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dante Lacasa. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 30th minute, SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's Traian Iorda dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Traian Iorda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Iorda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ali Nieminen. In the 45th minute Traian Iorda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Traian Iorda to strike the kick off in the second half. Taavetti Mattila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 56th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Ali Nieminen notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jerry Knowles took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Traian Iorda in the 69th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Traian Iorda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jiang Zhen Sen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Felix Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Iorda, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Nieminen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 played minutes SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans got a freekick which was hit by Jiang Zhen Sen. Jiang Zhen Sen kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Taavetti Mattila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
