The referee ignored Quebra Ossos FC's protests and gave Luisinho Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. Luisinho Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Quebra Ossos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Téo Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute João Augusto Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efrain Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efrain Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When João Augusto Bittencourt came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Quebra Ossos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Augusto Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osmar Eger in the 22nd minute of play. In the 29th minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Luisinho Cardoso hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Alexandre Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Bittencourt came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Osmar Eger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quebra Ossos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Aaron Alcocer charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 68 minutes, João Augusto Bittencourt made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osmar Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The audience was convinced that João Augusto Bittencourt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osmar Eger got free with Benito Sanz in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osmar Eger in the 89th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Téo Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Osmar Eger took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it.
