The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan-Ramón Verón in the 3rd minute. Juan-Ramón Verón in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Marcos Burni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Berserkers FC Ψ's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Marcos Burni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan-Ramón Verón in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan-Ramón Verón. Marcos Burni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Burni having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Berserkers FC Ψ's Juan-Ramón Verón sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 24 minutes into the game, Juan-Ramón Verón cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcos Burni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Juan-Ramón Verón got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 44th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Burni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute Berserkers FC Ψ were awarded a corner. Juan-Ramón Verón went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Berserkers FC Ψ's Iosif Budulea getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Marcos Burni in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Juan-Ramón Verón came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Berserkers FC Ψ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan-Ramón Verón couldn't finish the play. Berserkers FC Ψ's Radowit Furlit was substituted for Olliver Van Meirhaeghe. Berserkers FC Ψ's Giovani Lo Celso was substituted for Andres Lander. 60 minutes into the game, Juan-Ramón Verón cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Berserkers FC Ψ's Juan-Ramón Verón. But to his dismay, Juan-Ramón Verón quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Berserkers FC Ψ's Juan Ignacio Circelli was substituted for Juan-Ramón Verón. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Ignacio Circelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 77th match minute, Berserkers FC Ψ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Ignacio Circelli to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Marcos Burni in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Ignacio Circelli in the 81st minute of play. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Marcos Burni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Marcos Burni made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 90th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! In the 97th minute, Hektor Liberoyiannis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Berserkers FC Ψ support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
