Juan-Ramón Verón really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. When Juan-Ramón Verón came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Berserkers FC Ψ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan-Ramón Verón couldn't finish the play. Marcos Burni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Berserkers FC Ψ's Juan Ignacio Circelli got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
