Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Narūnas Baltramaitis in the 46 minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Adam Niziolek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Radarowcy Szczecin's Radomir Zurawski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Don Romário blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Radarowcy Szczecin succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Peru had controlled the match.
