In the 11th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play forced SK Annenieki's goalkeeper Jānis Lielais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artūrs Sagalats in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 17th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jānis Lielais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jānis Lielais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play. SK Annenieki's Jānis Lielais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th match minute, SK Annenieki was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ludis Vaicātājs to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the game, Renāts Skipors was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SK Annenieki's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Jānis Lielais dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Jānis Lielais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Jānis Lielais in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indris Tomass in the 64th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Jānis Lielais however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jānis Lielais breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Jānis Lielais in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SK Annenieki made a substitution. Ingus Rencis replaced Drosmis Kalnaiza. SK Annenieki's Jānis Lielais proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save SK Annenieki from getting a goal against them. The supporters of SK Annenieki booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, SK Annenieki's Jānis Lielais got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Reinholds Jaunzems hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
