Teofilo Oriol kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Howling Dawn U18's goalkeeper Enzo Shantala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Mercurio Mercurio charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mercurio Mercurio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Howling Dawn U18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mercurio Mercurio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita shot from long distance in the 16th minute, but Enzo Shantala was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. In the 25th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the game, Lun Luna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Enzo Shantala made a huge save. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 40th minute Howling Dawn U18 were awarded a corner. Mercurio Mercurio went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Howling Dawn U18's corner Mercurio Mercurio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lun Luna in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Howling Dawn U18's Enzo Shantala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute of play. Enzo Shantala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Howling Dawn U18's goalkeeper Enzo Shantala, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lun Luna in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Howling Dawn U18's Lun Luna. But to his dismay, Lun Luna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 66th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enzo Shantala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Camilo Sanchez kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th match minute, Howling Dawn U18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Sanchez to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Baldomiro Jerrald sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enzo Shantala having to interfere. Baldomiro Jerrald struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Howling Dawn U18. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
