Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciprian Caba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play forced AC Ony's goalkeeper Cisco Rubial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cisco Rubial made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 23 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Cisco Rubial was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Cisco Rubial didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Sven-Erik Hermansson could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Dei in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ciprian Caba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to AC Ony getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Cipriano Chus hit a great ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cisco Rubial having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciprian Caba in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Donald Tusk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 59 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cisco Rubial was left in no man's land by his defense there! 61 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cisco Rubial. AC Ony's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Cisco Rubial made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Pompiliu Traian fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Ony's protests and gave Pompiliu Traian a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th minute, Pompiliu Traian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the match, AC Ony's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Cisco Rubial reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by AC Ony's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Cisco Rubial in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Cisco Rubial made a huge save. Agustín Saelices came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cisco Rubial could save by the left post. AC Ony's Cisco Rubial proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save AC Ony from getting a goal against them. Cisco Rubial made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 86th minute. After 89 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cisco Rubial was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cisco Rubial made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 93rd minute of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AC Ony throughout the match.
