Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Jaime Pardo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Kleanthis Kostakoglou in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jacobo Nores, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Paraguay booed when FC Schalke 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedykt Cwenar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. Benedykt Cwenar hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Trent Cuevas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 22 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was František Spousta who took care of the corner kick. In the 28th minute, Kleanthis Kostakoglou reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jacobo Nores. The goal made the score 1-0. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Alan Campos hit a great ball. Kleanthis Kostakoglou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. In the 35th minute, Jaime Pardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacobo Nores made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Kleanthis Kostakoglou sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kleanthis Kostakoglou made a kick off. The FC Schalke 04 fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when FC Schalke 04's Kleanthis Kostakoglou looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kleanthis Kostakoglou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Tafalla to maneuver through the defense. František Spousta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. Jaime Pardo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Trent Cuevas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Trent Cuevas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kleanthis Kostakoglou in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Nores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FC Schalke 04's Benedykt Cwenar got a free kick in the 80th minute. Trent Cuevas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 86th minute. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hector Covarrubias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Trent Cuevas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in FC Schalke 04's zone, Hector Covarrubias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trent Cuevas came out of the goal and Hector Covarrubias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paraguay's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC Schalke 04 had won, even though Paraguay had held more of the ball.
