After 7 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Carvallo. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Grigoriy Melnichenko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Grigoriy Melnichenko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, András Törőcsik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by András Törőcsik in the 12th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 12 played minutes Bayern München FC. got a freekick which was hit by Márk Czakó. 14 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when András Törőcsik came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, András Törőcsik made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bayern München FC.'s goalkeeper Péter Kun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Bayern München FC. getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Grigoriy Melnichenko hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the game, Bruno Beldad was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bayern München FC. the free kick. Bruno Beldad kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by András Törőcsik in the 26th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Carvallo. An unexpectedly hard shot by András Törőcsik in the 33rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Csaba Latabár charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Csaba Latabár the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arturo Carvallo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigoriy Melnichenko in the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. If András Törőcsik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Grigoriy Melnichenko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when András Törőcsik sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. András Törőcsik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. The throw-in from Arturo Carvallo in the 60th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bayern München FC.'s Conrado Gumaro. Robin Bäcklin hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 66 played minutes Bayern München FC. got a freekick which was hit by András Törőcsik. With a couple of smart ball manuevers András Törőcsik in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 72nd minute of play forced Bayern München FC.'s goalkeeper Péter Kun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, András Törőcsik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th match minute, Bayern München FC. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dömötör Kásás to maneuver through the defense. After 92 played minutes Bayern München FC. got a freekick which was hit by András Törőcsik. Kevin Carballal hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After 96 minutes of play, Bayern München FC.'s Grigoriy Melnichenko made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bayern München FC. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
