The audience thought a goal was coming when Pantelija Bou got free with Dante Lacasa in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Göpsen FC were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Charles Gallot took the corner. Charles Gallot made a great header on Göpsen FC's corner, it was just that Mexico's Dante Lacasa managed to reach the ball for a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Anselmo Furlan made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Alberto Tafalla slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anselmo Furlan. That made the score 2-1 after 57 minutes of play. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anselmo Furlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo Furlan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute of the match Mexico got a corner.
