Aquilino Aguilera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 7th minute of the match. Aquilino Aguilera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aquilino Aguilera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 40 played minutes Los Diablos Rojos got a freekick which was hit by João Adolfo Mota. In the 45th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Espiga to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Los Diablos Rojos's Doug Bermudez got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Aquilino Aguilera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anastasio Gizon, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aquilino Aguilera saved Los Diablos Rojos from getting behind. In the 58th minute, Los Diablos Rojos's Anastasio Gizon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. 68 minutes into the match, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aquilino Aguilera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Moises Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aquilino Aguilera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ricardo Sidro, made in the 74th minute of the game.
