Swindon Sweden FF's Reynaldo Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play. Marcus Östman scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Brian Falck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Swindon Sweden FF's Brian Falck shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 25th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. After a defensive mix-up in Swindon Sweden FF's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Tino came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Haglund in the 28th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Tino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Swindon Sweden FF's goalie and right to Felix Montenegro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Swindon Sweden FF's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcus Östman was the one to do the kick off. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 62 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reynaldo Tino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 67th minute of play. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 72ndth minute of the game Marcus Östman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Reynaldo Tino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the match, Marcus Östman notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 87 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Östman came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 89 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Algot Spets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the match, Swindon Sweden FF's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Reynaldo Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reynaldo Tino was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 98 minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
