If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Norbert Gniewek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norbert Gniewek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Zbyszko Dulka sent off a good shot on target. Olaf Walkowski struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wlodzimierz Huchro in the 30th minute of the match. When Czeslaw Trela fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA's protests and gave Czeslaw Trela a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Czeslaw Trela to maneuver through the defense. Czeslaw Trela was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Czeslaw Trela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Lautaro Puig made a precise shot to the right of Norbert Gniewek. LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 40 played minutes LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA got a freekick which was hit by Ksawery Imbor. Norbert Gniewek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zenon Glozor in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. When LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA's Wlodzimierz Huchro in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Zbyszko Dulka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA's Norbert Gniewek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save LKS.SIEKIERA PIŁA from getting a goal against them. In the 70th minute Costa Rica were awarded a corner. Axel Tasis went to the cornerflag to take it. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbyszko Dulka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Zbyszko Dulka notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 78th minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 86th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
