After 9 minutes of play, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Bruno Moneda made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 12th minute Bruno Moneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Tristan Franquis throw himself and got hold of the ball when Abram Sarmiento in the 18thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Silvio Rainerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Moneda in the 23rd minute of play. Tristan Franquis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Axel Montenegro went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Tristan Franquis made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Moneda in the 40th minute of play. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Rainerio in the 43rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonio Indiano during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Indiano. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Bruno Moneda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Moneda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Bruno Moneda made the kick off in the second half. When Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Bruno Moneda in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Colombia's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Imperio Catatumbo de Lara defense, Pascual Carballar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tristan Franquis. The Imperio Catatumbo de Lara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tristan Franquis should have stopped the shot. In the 58th minute of the game Silvio Rainerio made a throw-in which Braulio Castulo played forward. 62 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Moneda. 63 minutes into the match, Bruno Moneda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruno Moneda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Tristan Franquis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Monedas short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Pedro Manzanares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Castulo, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. In the 76th minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tristan Franquis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Indiano got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Silvio Rainerio scored 2-3 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Silvio Rainerio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara made a substitution. Rik Cores replaced Braulio Castulo. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Silvio Rainerio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Silvio Rainerio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
