Richard Breckenfeld made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, Abram Luque cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Richard Breckenfeld was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 11 minutes, Moises Fernandino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Quebra Ossos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Telmo Salles charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Telmo Salles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, Quebra Ossos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Salles to maneuver through the defense. Paulo de Barros's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo de Barros helped the player get up and apologised. Paulo de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Richard Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 26th minute of the match Paulo de Barros completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulo de Barros a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Quebra Ossos FC's Paulo de Barros got a free kick in the 27th minute. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateo Leguizamo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Richard Breckenfeld. Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A hard and well directed shot from Mateo Leguizamo led 30 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Quebra Ossos FC's Richard Breckenfeld became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-3. Richard Breckenfeld came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Jorge Magrina. But to his dismay, Jorge Magrina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Moises Fernandino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Abram Luque managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Luque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Breckenfeld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Quebra Ossos FC's Richard Breckenfeld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Gustavo de Lima to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo de Lima in the 55th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Téo Fonseca's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Téo Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Quebra Ossos FC got a freekick which was hit by Téo Fonseca. Moises Fernandino's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Richard Breckenfeld skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 69th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Rubio to maneuver through the defense. Moises Fernandino was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. El Salvador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Quebra Ossos FC's Aírton Queirós quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Rubio, made in the 74th minute of the game. Mateo Leguizamo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper Richard Breckenfeld had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moises Fernandino. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The throw-in from Luis Rubio in the 88th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Quebra Ossos FC's Aírton Queirós. Jorge Magrina kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Quebra Ossos FC's Aírton Queirós quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Rubio, made in the 96th minute of the game. The El Salvador players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
