With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Αστέρας Δερβενίου's Theodosis Chronis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Αστέρας Δερβενίου's Sotiris Vrazilianos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play.
