Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thananiti Cheewawipat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Les Bistouquettes Bleues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Inglebert didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Vranken came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Tim Vranken. But to his dismay, Tim Vranken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With his leg Willem-Jan Hollanders managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willem-Jan Hollanders made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim Vranken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Willem-Jan Hollanders proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Les Bistouquettes Bleues from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute. Felix Montenegro scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Willem-Jan Hollanders, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willem-Jan Hollanders read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Willem-Jan Hollanders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Bryan Creemers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Thananiti Cheewawipat sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Thananiti Cheewawipat made the kick off in the second half. Thananiti Cheewawipat blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thananiti Cheewawipat in the 54th minute of the match. Thananiti Cheewawipat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Willem-Jan Hollanders. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Willem-Jan Hollanders narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Willem-Jan Hollanders showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of the match. Willem-Jan Hollanders made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Juan Sebastián Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Les Bistouquettes Bleues the free kick. In the 89th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Thananiti Cheewawipat:s penalty. 99 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Georges Grün was slow to take the kick. During this time Les Bistouquettes Bleues's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 99th minute. A hard shot by Georges Grün from long distance, 100 minutes into the match, got Julio Vera's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When the final whistle went the supporters of Les Bistouquettes Bleues were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
