An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 23rd minute of play forced Glorioso Deportivo Cali's goalkeeper Ivar Bjurström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivar Bjurström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Rigoberto Bastiaro scored 2-0 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rigoberto Bastiaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. 36 minutes in the game Gervasio Basallan did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Teofilo Mascarañas. Samuel Navarro made in the 62nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Glorioso Deportivo Cali's John Stones. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigoberto Bastiaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute Rigoberto Bastiaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rigoberto Bastiaro took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Colombia made a substitution. In the 72nd minute of the match Glorioso Deportivo Cali got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jacindo Baezabal ran over to the corner to take the kick. 4-2 became the score in the 74th minute when Ignacio Mastache elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Bartosz Wicherek hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, Glorioso Deportivo Cali's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Mastache came free, but Ivar Bjurström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rigoberto Bastiaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Glorioso Deportivo Cali fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colombia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
