Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Moises Fernandino kicked off to start the match. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dexter Snell in the 7th minute of play. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Abram Luque hit a great ball. Renaldo David made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 13th minute of play. When Karl Fleming came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the United States fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Fleming couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renaldo David. United States's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Fernandino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 27th minute Dexter Snell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Darron Healy managed to get in a good position for a shot. United States's supporters rose to their feet, but Darron Healy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santo Mercer made in the 32nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by El Salvador's Jesus Carvallo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 36th minute of play forced United States's goalkeeper Renaldo David to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The United States players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Salvador were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dexter Snell was the one to do the kick off. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Renaldo David tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, United States's Winford Dwyer got a free kick in the 54th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Renaldo David in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Marco Tamayo hit a great ball. The supporters of United States booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abram Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 played minutes, United States's Karl Fleming shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in United States reached it. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute of the match Karl Fleming sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita skillfully saved the ball. In the 68th match minute, United States was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Winford Dwyer to maneuver through the defense. Abram Luque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl Fleming received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dexter Snell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 84 minutes into the game, Moises Fernandino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave United States the free kick. Moises Fernandino hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute of the match, Moises Fernandino got a very nice opportunity to score, but Renaldo David was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The El Salvador supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Salvador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
