After a rather tough play, Quebra Ossos FC's Luís Gustavo de Lima got a free kick in the 19th minute. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osmar Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Téo Fonseca didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 25th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. In the 28th minute, Alexandre Pombal made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Bittencourt in the 31st minute of play. After 35 minutes, Alexandre Pombal made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a Quebra Ossos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Quebra Ossos FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Quebra Ossos FC were winning 2-4.

The wind increased when Alexandre Pombal made the kick off in the second half. Quebra Ossos FC's Luís Gustavo de Lima got his second yellow card of the match in the 51st minute. In the 76th minute, Alexandre Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the game, Alexandre Pombal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-9. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 84 minutes into the match, Quebra Ossos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Téo Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Téo Fonseca came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa. But to his dismay, Eliseo Noboa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-9. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafinha Simão during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute, Rafinha Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
